I left Houston (IAH) Tuesday, November 19 at 4:15p.m. and arrived in Casablanca, Morocco (CMN) at 3:35 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20 (3 hour and 45-minute layover in Paris/CDG going and 19-hour 40-minute layover returning to Houston). After checking into the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile, I literally had just enough time to shop, eat and sight-see. This hotel was connected to a shopping center which was a plus for me! After shopping, I was craving the Veal from a French cafe in Houston I love, named Toulouse Cafe. Unfortunately, I was served Veal over Tuna Sauce and not the Veal Scallopine that I was hoping for. I realized quickly that even for one day I should have learned more French words other than Oui Oui lol.
So, I found the nearest steakhouse, Bey Steakhouse. The meal was so good I forgot all about the Eiffel Tower lol. I made it there via uber right when it was closing, but it was the highlight of my day.
The Eiffel Tower was so beautiful at night and the feeling was so surreal. I've always been drawn to the Eiffel Tower. No specific reason but somehow this one day felt like a milestone and I reminisced over the blessings of being able to travel out the country in the middle of the week, choosing my own schedule, and having a great support system that reminds me that "the sky is the limit." One day, I plan to return to explore the beautiful city of Paris and hopefully have reservations to the restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
